I have loved making art since I was a child. I was an avid drawer and practiced sketching my favourite hockey players from teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers. Building with Lego blocks became an obsession and I could easily spend entire days constructing spaceships and battle stations. I continue to look for creative outlets in my adult life such as drawing and painting, sculpting with clay, creating photographs, and making music.
I consider teaching and working with students a true joy. I am blessed by my students each day and my relationships with them have become some of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I am passionate about art but also passionate about my family. I have been fortunate enough to participate in unique service-based projects that bridge these passions of mine and that challenge me to look beyond my own comforts and privileges. I am humbled to be currently serving on the board of an NGO that assists those in South East Asia whose freedoms are limited.
