Moon Jars

Students collaborated in sculpting pots known as moon jars. Our inquiries into this uniquely Korean form of iconography provided a rich understanding of the formation of cultural identity. In addition to the functional aspects of their pottery, students reflected on the symbolic nature of their creations made over many hours using hand-building techniques.
